Over a Decade with Dekko - £6m to £25m

Dekko Windows and Purplex have worked together for over a decade. In that time, Dekko has grown from a £6 million business to a £25 million one, launched multiple brands, entered new markets, and was acquired by Inwido, Europe's largest window group.

The Purpose

When Dekko Window Systems first approached Purplex in 2013, directors Gary Torr and Kurt Greatrex had a clear ambition: move the business upmarket and scale it significantly. Kurt and Andrew Scott had an established relationship within the industry, and Dekko knew they needed a strategic marketing partner that understood the window industry.

The first major opportunity was Dekko becoming one of a select few companies chosen as launch partners for the Residence Collection 9, a premium uPVC system targeting the high-end residential market. It was a significant commercial move, and we were set the target to help them reach 100 window sales a week.

So, we got to work!

The Plan

We launched a targeted email marketing strategy using our industry data from Insight Data. It quickly generated an impressive 150 high-quality leads. Based on repeat custom tracked over the years, that single campaign accounts for a massive £1.5 million in revenue. The fantastic results set the tone for a long-term relationship, and Dekko have never looked back.

As the business grew, so did its ambitions. In 2015, Kurt became managing director, and Dekko made a strategic decision to move into the aluminium market. It required a new brand identity and a proper launch with enough noise to make the industry take notice. Purplex conceived, planned, and executed a full brand launch of Räum, building anticipation through a teaser campaign that ran across trade publications, paid advertising, and social media. It was a high-impact campaign that successfully introduced Dekko to an entirely new market.

When Dekko became the first UK company to purchase a graph welding machine, capable of producing a distinctive smooth corner weld on uPVC windows, it represented a genuine point of difference in a competitive market. Purplex worked with Dekko to build a brand around that innovation. ’Infinity’ gave the product a name, a story, and a unique market position.

Alongside these landmark moments, Purplex delivered a consistent, sustained marketing strategy that kept Dekko front of mind across trade and consumer audiences. PR activity built a strong industry profile through regular editorial and press coverage. Direct mail campaigns, including flyers, postcards and drop cards, ensured targeted lead generation. Social media kept the brand active and engaging with video content, including factory tours, staff profiles, and product showcases – all to promote the Dekko story.

Consumer lead generation formed another important strand of the strategy. Purplex generated homeowner enquiries that Dekko passed through to their trade customers, creating a pull-through model that added commercial value to those relationships and strengthened Dekko’s position as a partner.

When Dekko exhibited at the FIT Show, Purplex supported the entire presence, from stand design and literature to post-show marketing. And as the business explored new routes to market, Andrew worked directly with Kurt on business strategy, identifying opportunities in the housebuilding and architecture sectors and shaping the approach to entering them.
